Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional

  1. Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional Download

I have problems updating Adobe Acrobat products, too. But first: Version 7.0.5 doesn't need the updates to 7.0.1, 7.0.2 and 7.0.3 before. When I try to apply the msp's via slipstreaming for the 7.0.5 and 7.0.7 patches to Adobe Acrobat Pro and Standard (Administrative installations) i have no luck, because applying with short filenames fails.

Hi James,

Adobe

I would suggest you to refer to the link and try to create a new user account and check if the issue persists:

Create a user account

Let us know if it helps.

Indeed a good hint: I tried to run Acrobat Pro 7 from another user (without any special rights) and it worked without problem. So I have a workaround to run it when I need it.

Unfortunately, it is not the first issue that can be solved by creating a new user account under windows 8 or 8.1; it looks like the structure of file rights can easily be messed up resulting in unusable applications.

The problem with creating new user profiles to solve problems is that it is not possible to rename the new user folder to the old name. As a result, a lot of references, shortcuts, macros have to be adapted every time. Also, while the old (corrupted) account can be deleted, I could not delete the old account folder because a file in Appdata (HPSLPSVC64.DLL) is flagged as still in use.

In any case, thank you very much for the hint as I have now a workaround.
